JOTHAM & Maggie ALLWEIN

We are the Allwein family, missionaries from Columbus, Ohio. Alongside our children, Isidore, Lourdes and Verena, we have dedicated our lives to the mission of returning neighborhoods to the heart of Jesus.

For ten years, Jotham served as the Marketing Director for Damascus while simultaneously co-founding Urban Encounter Ministries. After three years of marriage, we felt called to move our family to the central Hilltop neighborhood in Columbus, OH. In May 2025, Jotham left his Marketing Director role to devote all his time to growing Urban Encounter as its Co-Founder and Executive Director.

For nearly half a century, Hilltop in Columbus, OH has struggled under the heavy weight of poverty, violence, and the systemic cycles of addiction and exploitation. We believe it is our sacred duty to step into these gaps and reclaim this community for Christ. Our vision is to see neighborhoods and parishes transformed into vibrant hubs for evangelists and missionary disciples—proving that no place is beyond the reach of God's restoration.
